Three Cheers For Wild Amelia

Updated: 2 hours ago

Wild Amelia began in 2007 when a group of volunteers joined together to protect the natural habitat remaining on Amelia Island and in Nassau County. It recently joined Keep Nassau Beautiful as a special program to promote a conservation ethic for our fragile ecosystem.

Lynda Bell, Executive Director of Keep Nassau Beautiful, is shown receiving the check from a few Front Porch Beads volunteers.

Its activities include the annual Nature Festival and monthly Wild Night presentations by local naturalists and conservation experts. It also sponsors nature photography programs and Junior Naturalist Programs for kids 7-15 years of age. Front Porch Beads agreed these programs were consistent with its mission to raise funds for a wide range of charitable activities throughout Nassau County.
